Questions
Is this a binding classification?
No. AI classification provides a suggestion based on official tariff data, GRI rules, and customs rulings. For a legally binding classification, file a ruling request with CBP (US) or apply for BTI (EU) through a licensed customs broker.
What data does the AI use?
For US: every tariff heading in the USITC Harmonized Tariff Schedule, Section and Chapter Notes, GRI 1-6, and real CBP CROSS ruling decisions. For EU: the full CN/TARIC schedule (16,000+ tariff lines), GRI 1-6, and 120,000+ English-language BTI rulings from EU member states.
How accurate is it?
Accuracy varies by product complexity. Simple goods (a cotton t-shirt, a steel bolt) typically match at the 8-digit level. Composite or multi-function products may need human review. Every result includes a confidence score and the GRI reasoning so you can verify the logic.
What does a classification credit include?
One credit = one classification. Each result includes the suggested HTS or CN/TARIC code, a plain-language description, the GRI rule applied, the reasoning, a confidence score, and the duty rate for the origin country you specified.
Can I refine a result?
Yes. If the first suggestion isn't quite right, you can add more detail to your description and reclassify. Each reclassification uses one credit.
Does it work for EU tariff codes?
Yes. Select EU as the importing market and the engine classifies against the Combined Nomenclature (CN) and TARIC schedule. It uses the same GRI rules, EU section and chapter notes, and references over 120,000 English-language BTI rulings for context.
