Harbor Maintenance Fee: a 0.125% fee on the value of cargo imported through US ports.
The Harbor Maintenance Fee (HMF) is a 0.125% fee on the value of commercial cargo imported through US seaports and some inland ports. It funds harbor dredging and maintenance through the Harbor Maintenance Trust Fund. HMF applies to waterborne imports and is collected by CBP at time of entry. It does not apply to air freight or overland shipments. There is no minimum or maximum cap.
