BTI Ruling

A binding tariff information decision issued by an EU member state customs authority.

A BTI (Binding Tariff Information) ruling is a classification decision issued by an EU member state's customs authority. BTI rulings are legally binding for 3 years (or 6 years) and valid across all EU member states. They specify the correct Combined Nomenclature (CN) or TARIC code for a described product. The EBTI database (European Binding Tariff Information) stores all issued BTI rulings and is searchable by keyword, code, or ruling reference.
