Section 301
Additional US tariffs on Chinese goods under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974.
Section 301 tariffs are additional duties imposed on goods of Chinese origin, authorized under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974. They were imposed in response to China's trade practices regarding technology transfer and intellectual property. The tariffs are organized into Lists (1 through 4, plus 4A and 4B) with rates ranging from 7.5% to 100% on top of the base MFN rate. Specific product exclusions have been granted and revoked over time. Section 301 tariffs are administered by the US Trade Representative (USTR).
